Are there ANY..... ANY Carriers out there at all that are good to their employees?

You won't have any problems finding a good job as a company driver somewhere. Start putting in applications now and the reason is you're lookin for better pay and benefits; that's all you need to explain.

 

How much are you going to be on the hook for after you break the lease? I can't believe they won't tack on some type of obscene penalty.

try small guys with older trucks they usually pay better and cash and at the and of the year you do your own tax save some money sometimes you give them some money they will take the tax hit i used the haul coast the coast with these guys making 6-7 k a month cash now if market pays $2200 to the driver coast thje coast however these indivucials are mostly foreigners with several trucks so be honest with them you will never have took for mega carrier

I've been with maverick a few months now and I love it here. I've never been lied to, the pay is great, and they really treat their drivers and equipment well. I am really happy here.

Your giving good and bad advice: I'll explain, what your telling the OP is bad for him as a new driver. These smaller companies usually have a lot of internal problems, finances being one- maintenance issues- skirting the rules(ala logging)- bad DOT reports being another. On the good side, if the OP had about 2-3+ years under his belt and knows all there is to know about maintaining a truck and I do mean knowing it all (maintaining/improvising/1099 etc), then this could be good advice.
