So i am actually a dispatcher for a heavy duty tow truck company, and i was tasked with trying to figure out a efficient way to map out a heavy haul route for doing permit runs. Does anyone know of anything that might be helpful? Thanks.

no app.simple- laminated atlas and write on wipe off pen... easy peasy, cheap, and every truck needs an atlas anyway.
besides if you get a route you need to look it over before you roll anyway or bad things can happen. like looking for a rt# in pittsburgh. and finding ones self in the wrong lane on a bridge. and rolling a tire off on the jersey barrier because long pipe in the wrong lane is not good....
    map books are your friend...

Unless I am on a totally different concept,
A permit route is written by the state, you could put points into a gps manually or you could just look at a map book. What possible benefit is there to buying a whole software app? Either way you input the route you are given...

All/most heavy haul companies have the software......Its the same software Combat/WCS permit companies have. I just don't know how to get my hands on it.

You can do all the wishful OS route mapping you want till the cows come home...in the end it's the individual states permitting dept. that decides how you go...
