Check around some of the packing plants and see if you can start a conversation with one of the farm truck drivers coming in, it might be that they would put you to work and let you learn your way around maybe as a drivers helper at first, won't pay much but what you want is experience anyway, also, see if you can talk to some of the drivers hauling containers in and out of the ports, they might know of something as well, that might keep you close enough to home until things change.

You can also try Craigslist. Also Crete/Schaeffer hires out of Florida but make sure to call them first. They only take students from certain schools. They are also a very good company.
