I believe history will eventually label the most disasterous presidency for the US economy to be the Clinton Administration. He pushed for NAFTA and that is the single most deadliest blow to the manufacuring industry. I also believe the most successful presidency to the US economy will be George W. Everyone forgets that we spent 80% of his term in an uphill climb, breaking records of financial growth never before seen. It wasn't until the Dems regained control of the houses his last 2 years that we started to spiral downward. His financial committee warned congress repeatedly of the upcoming market crash that would follow a housing crisis urging them to pull in the reins on Fannie Mae and Freddi Mac.... they laughed in his face and it is the same mantra of dimwitts that voted to put more Dems in office.... Funny how that works, people are looking for a handout, offer them a wolf in sheeps clothing and that is what we will all end up with... Our hands out. We need to restore a balance in Washington, abolish NAFTA and maybe, just maybe we will be able to repay this erronious debt so our grandchildren will have a better life. We all ready screwed our children... we need to protect what they have left.

Really... if we are going to start listing the best and worst Presidents then Ronald Reagan comes to mind. It was under his watch that "deregulation" and the mass exodus of manufacturing jobs started, Clinton was just the icing on the cake. But to some, Reagan walked on water, as so did Clinton. Also keep in mind, he is the same President, Ronald Reagan removed the White House solar panels... and look were we are today.

**I also believe the most successful presidency to the US economy will be George W. Everyone forgets that we spent 80% of his term in an uphill climb, breaking records of financial growth never before seen.**

This above statement is a joke.... RIGHT!?!?

I feel there is a lot more to our Nation's economic quagmire than current and past Presidents. The fact that the system allowed this to happen along with the never ending GREED factor. Profit is not a bad word... we all want to make it. But at what point is it just enough? Wall Street drives companies into higher profits and is never happy with leaving well enough alone! Hell a multi thousand dollar a company needs to make a million a year. A million dollar a year company needs to make multi millions a year and so on. But I always ask the question at what expense!?!?! American jobs! American family's well being! All so Wall Street and the Shareholders can whack off to expense reports at night!?!?!?!? This is Capitalism gone amuck in the worst way and our beloved system allowed it to happen and sadly I do not see how we can "right the ship" this time. It seems Research and Development is a thing of the past... unless that is of course you think cell phones and iPods count. Hell just look at transportation, our highways and bridges, our engines, even the airplanes flying around! There is nothing new! We are basically the same country from 40 years ago. We were supposed to be flying in the Jetson's car by now!

I digress now... but I am very afraid of the future. This in my opinion is eerily similar to the fall of the Roman Empire, a to big to fail mentality if you will.

Oh and one more thing about politics.... I could GIVE A crAAp about the 2010 elections!!!!!! FIX THE MESS NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I leave you with this.... please watch this and ask yourself where would we be today if this actually happened after World War II.

So tell me - did the freight get picked up? I'm curious to know if someone actually took it at that rate.

You know I do not know. I surely hope not!

It is just kind of 'ballsie' to even offer it.

Ballsie to offer it, but "Why not put it out there and see if some poor down on his luck trucker will bite on it."

I hope that if someone did call them about it that they were able to negotiate a much higher rate. As long as people take it, they'll keep putting it out there.

OK, now I'm getting good and depressed....:biggrin_2555:
