Oh.. I forgot to add.. that I also agree that often it is poor money management that puts some in that position...
when I was training I would see it all the time.. a trainee gets paid and they spend money like they hit the lottery... fast food, junk food, gadgets... they would buy the most useless gadgets at a truckstop rather then wait till we got to a walmart or somewhere... they would buy this bluetooth headset, not like it and buy a more expensive one the next payday... headphones to listen to music.. a friggin tire thumping flashlight... then a day or two before payday they were broke and hungry... so.. no nutritional value in that cool flashlight thumper you got there...
I was taught at a young age to save and budget my money... I put something away from every paycheck and have been doing so for a long long time...
Are they really this hungry?

It's no worse then the girl I was working with was going to clean the restrooms and she set the toilet paper down and a few min later she ask if I moved it and I looked up and there was a guy with an odd looking bump running out the door to his car! Lol

I was skiing in Vail a long time ago. They have a hot dog stand right on the slope half way down the mountain. There was a young kid with long blonde hair and a CA accent. Definitely a surfer type dude.
The hot dog was like $2.00 and all the condiments were free. When asked what he wanted on it he said everything and a lot of it. Tomatoes, onions, relish, ketchup, mustard, sour kraut and lettuce. So much the guy had to use a paper plate instead of a hotdog holder.
The guy asked the kid, how can you taste the hotdog with all that stuff on it? The kid said, it's food man, it's food in a CA accent. We laughed.born&raisedintheusa Thanks this. -
I don't really have bad weeks, but if I do, I have Spaghetti-O's. I have a fridge/freezer in my truck, but I also have Spaghetti-O's and a case of ramen. I've parted with my stash a few times to drivers who have no money to eat, but man. A jelly dinner. What the hell are they doing with their pay checks.

So, I just started this new gig as a Tow Truck driver... and for the last couple shifts they had me go with our Repo guy and assist in repossessing vehicles...
I must say, that is a crazy experience... last night, a spotter followed a car that the the people have been stashing i. The garage for a couple months... the spotter saw them leave and they went to a strip mall, where the lady went into a nail salon while her kids and husband went into a Best Buy...
we get there with the tow truck and get hooked and lifted when the lady comes out of the nail salon..
well, first the lying that they just made a payment.. a d then into a tearful plea of how she has been out of work and starts a new job tomorrow and needs her car.. how she cant even feed her kids...
well.. it may have pulled on the heart strings if she wasn't waving her fresh air brushed acrylic nails around and fresh pedicured feet freshly air brushed.. and her husband and kids showing up with their newly bought gadgets and clothes...
when we explain they have to work it out with the finance company.. we just pick em up.. they start saying what low lifes we are.. and how can we live with ourselves knowing we are going to starve her children...
of course we just keep quit.. secure the vehicle... which, had an amazing sound system with a trunk full of speakers..
yeah.. I am the low life for living within my means and paying my bills...Last edited: Jun 8, 2015
