I was thinking of buying a truck and going over to intermodal. I talked to a driver with a company I was considering who told me he really likes his company. He's grossing $3-3500 per week. Last week he did $3200. Maybe he's not adding the fuel surcharge? Sounded ok until he told me he's running almost 60 hours per week to do it. ####. So I got to thinking, $3200 minus about $900 for fuel, minus about another $600 in expenses for the truck, minus another $1100 for taxes, health, dental etc., I'd be left with $600 a week (roughly $250 less than what I need and 10 more hours per week). So, right now you guys are making company driver money? Right now, I'm hauling cars and boy is it slow. I have roughly 1/3 of my usual freight but I'm staying booked by running cars I wouldn't usually touch. I think we're seeing the beginning of the next financial collapse. Tell me I'm wrong. 2008 was the last time I was digging for work like this. $3500-4 gross and I'm in but with the last quarter GDP growth for the U.S. of only .5%, It''s not looking good. A major financial crisis happens every 7 years like they're planned. We're due. Hope I'm wrong. My body doesn't want to haul cars any more.

This week was good. I was offered saturday too but i felt burnt. So i did ny 5 days. Harvey integrated sucked so much. The lines were to the street . I dont know where the slow down is. On brighter note. Got free health/dental/vision.
