Some paranoid people, no offense!! When they took their log books and went to the computer, they were simply putting in his stops to verify the times, distance/time=speed. Most of the time they don't do that unless something looks fishy. Some states like Washington use the cameras at the scale to clock you. In all the inspections I ever had, I have never been asked for a fuel receipt, just the standard log book, BOL, insurance, registration, license & medical card. All that being said, how close they look depends allot on who's name is on your door. The higher the safety score, the closer they will look & for good reason.

and the cameras that are appearing on the highways. are simply cameras taking a pic every 15 minutes. so that people can access a snapshot of road conditions when it snows.
i highly doubt they access the camcorders you all refer to as cameras as that would involve watching some video. and nobody got time for that. -

No, they are not taking it too far or fabricating anything.
You cross a scale, the camera's are accurate enough to pick out your plate AND your DOT number off the side of the truck. And it records it. Software is good enough to recognize the lettering.
I learned this from experience when an ID DOT officer at Lewiston pulled up the records on his computer and told me WHEN I was crossing scales in WY, MT, ID, CO. What was funny about it all. The computer time stamp on the paperwork they gave me for my overlength permit for ID didn't match actual time. When I was "written up" for "false logs" I compared it to the time stamps on my credit card receipts and went to court with them, prosecution got REALLY cold about wanting to be seen with the situation suddenly.
That false log charge got tossed really quickly at that point.
It really is 1984 and Big Brother really is tracking us.NavigatorWife and Gearjammin' Penguin Thank this. -
I also notice at times my card receipt timestamp when I buy fuel don't match anytime was like six hours off. I always make sure my times match
my Fl sunpass times I figure the have access to it. -
when I went and got my own fuel card and prepass, I was rather surprised the detail that went into them.
Cash is quickly becoming king for more than just better savings. I can find places with cash prices that make a fuel card pointless.Excorcist1 Thanks this. -
And, of course, if you got from here to there faster than the speed limit allows, you're in trouble also. Same goes for getting through a traffic jam "miraculously" fast. More and more Big Brother is watching you so at least drive safely if not legally.

all of those cameras are viewable at any time. Regardless of state. Unfortunately, the DOT feels compelled to turn them off and restrict viewing at their discretion.
Amazing the difference between the East and west side of the Twin Cities makes.
