This here is why I parked my truck. Shippers and brokers will not budge because they know there are plenty dummies that will run for $1.25 a mile, so they just sit on their fat wallets and continue to build their bank accounts at the dummies expense. Let fuel keep rising, $1.25 a mile dummies aready are dropping like flies, problem is there is so many of them it's gonna take a while for all them to go belly up. I think the big companies are hauling cheap freight for cash flow purposes to stay afloat. I will not run my equipment unless I can make a profit, no loads under $2 a mile and right now they are just too hard to find. I didn't go broke so I can afford to sit parked awhile. It's better to be parked and not putting wear & tear on my truck & trailer than to be wearing it out with no profit to repair or repalce it. I would bet that brokers and shippers are making more money for themselves and not paying any more than they have to the trucks since fuel went up.
Are we really this stupid?
