Thanks all for the information. I am just going with it, as you are right and I just got a bit worked up about the whole thing. I was just upset because I had called the agents office several times today during business hours and left 3 messages, I also sent 3 emails and left him 2 messages on his cell phone and he never called me back. I forget he was on the east coast and it was not 7pm there when I called him (10pm there)
Needless to say I think the 3 hours of loading in 112* got to my head just a bit. This morning it's not such a big deal LOL
As for load gauges, I have one for the truck, just not installed yet. You can be sure that is #1 priority when I get home. As for the trailer it does not have one either and not sure where I can mount one because LS says we can not drill any holes in the trailer as t will boot the warranty as it's all a 1 piece system and I don't even have cross members to mount it to either. -

Understand about getting worked up, if you can get the tractor gauges installed.
I never trusted anyone's word after getting a 2,700.00 overweight ticket years ago in Kentucky, set three days just so the mill would come out and remove the extra weight.
That was the shippers most expensive load they ever sold, lied on the BOL and to the DOT. Good thing was the troopers knew they were always overloading trucks and pretty much sided with me.
Took a year to get my money back, just a hard way to learn never trust a broker or shipper unless a 3rd party scale confirms.Mommas_money_maker Thanks this. -
Those cowboy hats have a big brim for reason. I didn't have a cowboy hat but i had a hat with a big brim. Also drink plenty of water, forget the sodas and energy drinks plain old water. You could always mount the tractor gauge in the sleeper tool compartment. On the trailer look where the airline goes in the airbag you might be able to put a T right there and even if you use some industrial double sided tape to mount the gauge, even velcro.

If i turned back to get a load fixed every time it weighed more than stated i would never do any trucking. But like was allready said alot of loads weight less than stated so it all works out. For 480lbs i would not even think twice about running it with a spread axel trailer. The farther you run the lighter you will get as you burn of fuel.

Yeah, I'm going to add a set of boxes to the trailer soon, and I'll just mount the gauge inside there. The brackets for the trailer are $350 for EACH set, then add the cost of the box, I'm looking at easily $2,000.
I can mount the tractor air gauge inside my headache rack. -
I figured out it is all the lumber they loaded on the azzend that put me over.
I also out this morning and tossed a canvas tarp over a crate of metal joists that were only held together by a thin layer of shrink wrap. I swear they are really making me work for this $$$ LOL
