Here in Mass, the literature is free. Funny, the elements of the test are the SAME in EVERY STATE! The CDL program is a FEDERALLY mandated program, ADMINISTERED by the states. Although worded differently, the questions are the same.... and either you know the stuff or you don't!
Same with endorsements... The states DO, however, charge different fees.
Every state that I've checked online has a section called "CDL" and all the info one needs to studyis there. I particulary like California and Minnesota.
There are also more than a few online , FREE practice test sites....
My two cents -
wow 92$ i feel lucky for living in AZ i went to school they payed for the permit at 25$ then just graduated dident have to take another check down there or anything just give em the 3rd party testing packet and get a new photo state payed for my schooling too to renew its 50$ every 5 years

Illinois and Idaho study guides are free. They are basically the same book with some minor differences. There are two sites that have excellent practice CDL and endorsement tests on them, and they are FREE to use. Just google "Practice CDL tests" and they come up in the first couple of listings. Dont waste your money on the sites that advertise study guides and testing guides, etc. Everything you need to know for all your tests is in the universal study guide provided by each and every state. Good Luck!
