Act784 Passed in our State House and signed into Law has a specific date inside to take effect. Otherwise normally bills passed out of Legislature to sign Gov into Law takes 91 days after last session in statehouse to take effect thats today for many new laws.

One in particular prohibits ALL electronic, cell use, texting or anything inside construction zones and school zones. If you are caught it's 50 dollars to 250 fine and second offense will exceed 500 dollar fine. Also if accident etc doubles the fines among other things.

Back to Act 784. Pertaining to Speed Limit. For a few years we had 75 mph law set aside for highways with dividing medians and 65 for rural roads between towns on state roads (Even if it's two lane which will be really fast...) that will happen on July 1 2020.

Commercial Vehicles will be limited to 70 mph. (As if you can even get past 61, 62, 63 mph and experience the future new traffic coming at you at 75-90 mph during say rush. We are already rolling 85 in places during rush now. 75 will just push people to open it up more in the cars. So be prepared for a splash of rammings into trailers under the Decap ICC Bar.

Thats all for now. Straight from the Statehouse pertaining to trucks. Looks like the old split speed limits are back in vogue.

The speed limits on the 2 lanes here in Arkansas need to be raised. 55mph is way too slow in most places.

True, but its gonna be alot harder to stop that 80,000 lbs at 65, vs 55 when someone pulls out in front of you. Or that 4wheeler thats about 2 truck lengths in front of you decides to hang a left all of a sudden and theres on coming traffic.

Near the base we are still enduring 45 mph on that old 5. There are little two lanes that are VERY handy but are too twisty to handle with a large car or a pig iron wagon that cannot turn in 40 acres. Now if I had a Audi German car for sport or a Honda S2000 etc I can make that twisty be irrelevant or something in that class.

But its gonna be alot harder to stop that 80,000 lbs at 55, vs 35 when someone pulls out in front of you. Or wait a minute if you wont drive at all, no one will pull on front on me! Time to quit trucking!

If i ever hit the lotto, which i dont play lol, im gonna buy one of those souped up dragster semis. Then i can just catch a gear and blow the doors off some of these inconsiderate drivers.

Get real. There are many states with a higher speed limit on their 2 lanes. Texas has a 70 mph limit on most of their 2 lanes. Don't see the carnage you seem to think would happen there.

I am not so sure. Out here in the hills it's similar to Marshall Texas country. Close. If you managed to get into the ozarks where there are curves facing heaven's scenes and marked for 5 mph... then you know you are a long way from Texas. If it aint in texas... ///teasing... teasing.

Have a wonderful day y'all. Like things go around here the day is too pretty to work on the roof that is no longer leaking. HA...
