Thanks for the quick response Arky!! Yes, I filled out the several page application. I have one month of OTR but like what I hear about Sunoco. I graduated an accredited school in Cali and have all endorsements. I'm 50 years old and had to change careers (newspaper printing). My experience so far has been a lot of waiting without pay for companies to open to accept the load or be available to receive the load. Don't mind driving or unloading, just don't like waiting. I'm working on my 7 posts so I can PM you. Thanks so much for your help!!

I also was wondering if Sunoco runs 3 weeks on, 1 off, or what their schedule is.
-
They have no 3on/1off schedules that I'm aware of. When you hire on to Sunoco Logistics, it is understood that you will be relocating to that area. Then, you will be working a regular job. You will get specific holidays off with vacation time. They have a good vacation and benefits package...but nothing that will allow you to return home on a regular basis....that I know of.

OK, thanks for the info. The family would eventually be relocating with me.

Wouldnt the amount paid in taxes be recouped at income tax time? Just saying. I still havent found what is an accredited school, but im leaning toward sage trucking here in SA
-
Why don't you call up a recruiter at Sunoco and ask which schools they accept?
-
There isnt a local number and I called the PA main office but the lady didnt know the answer. I also emailed them a couple of times since early this month but not response yet.
-
Oh! OK. Maybe Arky has a phone number he can send you.

I'm pretty sure an accredited school is a school where you can get federal grants or loans. Like when I went to cdl school at Lone Star College/Transportation Institute, I could've gotten a grant if the military wouldn't have paid for it, and that is considered an accredited school...Now if I went and got my CDL-A in 17 days with stevens transport, than Sunoco wouldn't look at me till I had the driving experience they are asking for, since that is not an accredited school.Last edited: Aug 1, 2013
