Just wanted to put it out there (bc of a previous section of this thread) that I really dont think it makes much of a difference whether or not you have a TWIC to Sunoco. The same bg check they do for your Twic and for you Hazmat is the same one Sunoco is going to do on you, reguardless.

Thanks for all of the posts on this topic. I am a newbie here and just graduated from an accredited trucking school. I was looking at getting in to the oil fields and actually applied with Sunoco in Texas. I got a phone call back from them and did an initial interview, but I had a question I'm hoping somebody may have the answer to. It says on their website that you must have a clean driving record. About 6 years ago I got a DUI. It was my first and only blemish (a huge one, I know) on my MVR. Does anyone know if they would be willing to hire me? What are their requirements in regards to a clean driving record? Any thoughts insight would be appreciated.

Have you followed up on the interview? You should! -
On that note i had my interview with Sunoco on Friday and the district manager that did my interview wants me to take a driving test which i am fine with my only question is, is this standard I interviewed for Oklahoma and i have a friend that interviewed for Tx and he is not going to have to take a test. I live in Phoenix and i guess i'm asking if anybody else was required to take a driving test before moving foward in the hiring process also does anyone know if Sunoco would pay for the flight out so i can take the drive test

They seem to be all over the board with whom has to do what and in what order...I can't figure it out.
If they hire you they will provide relocation expenses though. As a new CDL graduate I won't get any of that until after my training period. Supposedly new graduates must be hired on through a staffing agency first for like 30 days before becoming an actual Sunoco employee. However that seems to be being applied arbitrarily... I'm just doing what I gotta do to get on.
I did have to do a backing test in Abilene though. -
Ok with that being said he did not mention anything about a temp agency lol, now regarding the backing test what did that really consist of? I mean was it like in school straight back of set stuff like that

I'm near to Sunoco at Marcus Hook Pa and looking to relocate to TX/OK. If hired I wonder if I could do all the preliminary stuff in Marcus Hook and report to my duty location for training?
I've got Hazmat already and TWIC and tanker are easy enough. I've got to get tanker anyways to haul totes.
