The 7 years is done after probation. So in another 13-15 years he can start driving for CRE. Plus he won't be able to go into Canada.

Well its 7 yrs from either the end of probation or his release date. Not for sure.
Do you really think this was his first arrest though? Im sure he didnt just one day decide to rob a bank after having a clean record. LOL He surely has a file on him prior to that and companies will see it ALL.
I hope he stays out of trouble & clean & sober . -
Armed bank robbery is taking stealing to the highest level it goes. An employer will think if he made a decision to take it that far at some point what would stop him from doing something relatively easy in comparison like stealing an expensive piece of equipment and possible high dollar load. That might not be his intentions and for all we know he could be the most model citizen now and learned from his mistakes. To an employer it's risk regardless.

Sorry its after the probation is over with.
KMac Thanks this. -
he cant be on parole or probation while operating a commercial vehicle
-
Its 7 years after probation/parole has ended. I am sure that's because its rather easy not to commit armed robbery for 8 years if you have been locked up that long
-
He could probably get a local job hauling sand or gravel.

That seemed the most logical to me...
