LOL! I'm there now, been running for a week. Good-to go. My prev co tried to sabotage me by dragging their feet on sending employment verification. That led to an extra day in orientation. The Arnold safety crew put myself and one other guy in the hotel an extra night and bought us lunch the next day, all at their expense. Orientation was over. Yet they treated us better than I've been treated at other places without a doubt. It was quite refreshing!
They did send two home. One had a prior felony that he had disclosed , but that USX wouldn't approve. The other guy may have had an issue with the physical. He was asked to finish day one to avoid having to repeat it when he came back.
I'm guessing the triple-shot spam guy was sent home and has hard feelings. Been there, done that. JB did it to me some years ago...

Whatcha wanna know? More emphasis on regional since the new CEO took over. He came over from Link America. So now Grand Prairie drivers stay west of the Mississippi for example.

I just applied with Arnold. I'm a student and will be graduating by the end of april. I don't expect they'll approve me but I would like to know if they run manual (10/13/15/18spd) or auto trans(boo). I found $58 a day while in training, .30cpm to start, then .33 after 3 months. Don't know if that's current though. I'm not looking to get rich, i just need to make something, and that's better than some of the mega carriers pay starting out.

Well, to my surprise Arnold just called me and said my application was reviewed and approved. I think I burned through all but the worst of the entry level companies (I was saving those for last) and was turned down by all of them. I guess we'll see how it goes.

My exp here has been pretty good so far. Miles averaging 2400-2600. Shop is the downside. GP shop has proven to be unreliable. I've heard they are paid below avg, so maybe they can't get good techs. They do offer you local work (daycab/hourly) so you can make some $$ while in the shop. That's my gig for the next couple of days now that my T660 automatic trans has been sent to Kenworth for EGR cooler R&R (recall/warranty). At least KW will do the job right.
I wish we ran more 48 state otr. Regional gets kinda boring at times. Hometime has been on-time, been staying out 10days and then 2 days off.

Where are you going for orientation??

I don't know yet. My phone didn't ring so I missed the call, but I did get the voicemail. My phone sucks. Sometimes my phone doesn't ring, other times it doesn't alert me to voicemail for a few days. I've called Tara back multiple times but so far I keep getting her voicemail and have left messages. I tried calling and asking the operator for student recruiting and that call ended up going to voicemail for Chris.

Does anyone know how much experience their trainers have to have to become a trainer? Is training run as a solo truck or team? Do they have APU'S/EPU'S? Do they allow/have inverters? Do they use paper or electronic logs? What the percentage of drop & hook and no touch freight is? Rider policy? Offer tuition reimbursement? Per diem?

Hopefully I'll get Tara or somebody on the phone soon. I just found out that I'm going to be tested early. Graduation is April 30th, but they're going to test me and three others five days early to let the ones that are struggling get more seat time.
