Hello my fellow drivers I would like to tell you a story about my recent arrest in the state of Montana. As my co-driver and I sat on I-90 waiting for an accident to clear we lost traction. We tried everything including chains to shake free of the ice. After several failed attempts the Montana highway patrol called for a tow. In the course of calling for a tow truck the officers were told that the trailer was stolen. My co-driver and I were handcuffed and arrested right on the interstate. We stood there in the cold with our hands behind our backs for several minutes until transportation to the jailhouse was arranged.
Upon arrival at the jailhouse we were questioned, booked, strip searched, and thrown in jail with Montana's local law breakers. After two or so hours we were released with an apology and a ride back to the truck. We made our way to Washington for the delivery.
We informed our company of everything that happened. They apologized, stalled, and eventually offered three hours detention pay. I told them that was an insult. The company insisted that they had done nothing wrong despite the fact the the MHP said they were in contact with the company dispatch.
The attitude from the brain trust was aggressive and fake.
Why am I telling this story...it's all I can do, and it can happen to you.

It will be even more insulting when you get hit with a service failure
slowpoke89 Thanks this. -
The company first said it was a disgruntled former employee, but over time they backed off that claim and said "the investigation is ongoing".
Yes we had the registration. -
-
The company would have been the contact on the trailer. No way a disgruntled employee could be responsible. -

I agree, time for your attorney to join in with the investigation. So in light of all that happened to you you are OK with doing nothing?
I'm not one for lawyers, but if this happened to me I would be looking for enough money to buy a new truck and move on with a new company.Hardlyevr Thanks this.
