More training is better than poor training. Just get the curriculum in order and start slow and gradually work into the advanced stuff. I wouldn't throw everything at them at once.
Many drivers weak areas are the regulations. I would stress they learn them on their own time. Also tell them about TTR. Other than a fun forum, it's a great learning tool. I about remember the regulations now searching and sharing.
I wouldn't mind training in a way. But I know I would be one of the statistics that went around a corner too fast while in the sleeper. It's not worth the couple extra bucks.
Back when I was a trainee, the trainer got all the miles and made about $100K. The greedy companies put a stop to them methods.
