consider purchasing a used unit from a reputable, carrier and lease it and yourself back to the carrier.

To make it absolutely clear, the Arrow that I was/am referring to is Arrow Truck Sales. The same company that puts up the Trucks For Sale posters at trucks stops. Arrow is part of Corporate America, and as such, really don't care if a buyer can afford the payments, if the wheels fall off 10 miles down the road, or if they have to repossess in 6 months (Much like our former housing "industry") I hate to say it. but in my opinion, America has become one big Ponzi scheme. Unfortunately, I, and probably most readers of this forum, are not "too big to fail". As they use to say on Hill Street Blues may years ago.... "be careful out there".

Why is their fault about what you can afford? They don't know how your going to operate your business. You may have a $1300 truck payment and is it their fault that you lay around the truck stop playing pinball all night long and can't deliver your load on time and then can't make your payments or you maybe a hard worker that can. Some new owner operators get a couple big checks and their out buying a new pickup and boat etc... then when times get bad or have problems they don't have any money saved to take care of the business, is it then Arrow Truck Sales fault?

I am looking at two used trucks and not for sure which one I am going to buy, both have over 750,000 miles on them. I don't know if they are going to break down on me in the next six months but if they do I will fix it and go on about my business, I am not going to blame it on the previous owner and neither one of us can see into the future. If I fail at my business and loose my rear I am not going to blame it on the previous truck owner either.

You say it is the same as the housing, well yeah those idiots loaned money to people that couldn't afford it but why didn't that future home buyer say we can't afford this and we are going to look at something cheaper and just say "NO" to the lender.

It doesn't matter if your buying groceries or a big truck you have to have a budget and know what you can afford.
