Gotta like the honesty in the Ashley threads. I'll be watching closely to see how they run you guys for the holidays, I'm not sure if it will slow down or if volume will be heavier. I'd guess the Pepsi loads would increase and it seems like furniture is on sale every day with some 90% discount (lol) or something. Ashley is definitely an intriguing option for someone looking at a quality driving position.

Yup Flying is spot on, the mileage I have been running is about 3025 year to date average, the past 2 mths been running 3200 to 3600 plus. This week it was 3422.
Home time for me has mostly been late (in) Saturday afternoon, (out) mid to late morning Mondays-so the hrs for time off compared to flying is about the same, down here, and trust me when I say this, when the slack time of yr comes around, I do not complain---LOL
I have had a couple of restarts on the road in the past 3 yrs but it was my choice, stayed out 2 weeks at a time.trucker43 Thanks this. -
Well the guys on here like to tell it like it is, the good , the bad, and the ugly LOL.
If you look at it from afar, the big picture if you know what I mean--its a overall GOOD_JOB, the trks are good, the maintance is the best in the top 1-3% nation wide, And when you learn there system, you can make it work for you--
Its going to get a little slow here and there, but it really picks up about the 2nd week of Jan to the end of mayish, (slows) basically when the kids are out of school for the summer it slows down, everyone is out side enjoying the weather.
They do say they will get u home for X-mas, and they have done a good job of getting me home for Thanksgiving to, and extra time off to take care of personal matters.Last edited: Nov 15, 2015
trucker43 and Pintlehook Thank this. -
How hard would it be to transfer from LTL to PTP or vice versa? Hypothetically speaking, of course. Lol.
I REALLY like where I'm at, but some things have me concerned for the future.... -
Well I hear ya! If you are in a market area that they have a hard time for what ever the reason filling the spots they have open, you will get push back moving from one to another, of course they will want to keep you in the spot that is hard to fill, if you know what I mean. Of course there has to be an opening for that to happen.
On the other hand I know people that do it.
Here is an example: (a driver gets injured on the job and is returned to duty but lite duty only and he was LTL, they will move him to the PTP side, until he can return to full duty.)
For the most part the LTL side stays full, mostly because of the extra money they earn, most of the time it can take a while to move into one of those spots, but its location, location.trucker43 and Pintlehook Thank this. -
I live near the Oakdale, PA location. At one time both LTL and PTP positions were open, I'd probably be more interested in the LTL side.

I hate going up there, and u know why--LOL Everyone has there likes and dislike's-LOL
There is one or 2 drivers on hear that I hope will chime in.
It does seem that when one of us gets stationed up there for a work week, your pay check may be affected, if u know what I mean, traffic, and weather can be the key factors, I am very fortunate, I am to far south a driver to get to go there as much as others, only been there a few times, and have not experienced anything real bad, in and out.
But I know drivers that have had some messed up pick ups and delivery's and backhauls there, we have all experienced that here and there of course.
If you where going to do it, I would tell ya to do the LTL side first.Last edited: Nov 16, 2015

A good driver as I say: (always has an exit plan--LOL)
And has at least, a plan - B and me I have a plan - C also==LOL -
I'm one of the few on PTP that doesn't do 'the norm' I'm off sequence for most, almost back to normal now, but I was leaving out mid week, working the weekend and getting back mon, tuesday. I do mostly transfers between plants, so I get higher miles and less drops. But my pay shows it, I've been talking to them about getting back to the norm. I don't mind doing this once in a while, but not for say, the last 3 months. Sounds like I will be running relays out of ecru this week. We'll see how it goes.
trucker43, ASHLEYDRIVER2013 and flyingmusician Thank this. -
Yep weekend work never seems to work out as well even though you do still run. It never has been ideal for me. Gonna have to get off this schedule I just found myself on soon as possible. Tue-sun is possibly the worst of all because by Tuesday morning all you do is pick up scraps leftover from Monday and try to recover from there
Finally back to the yard and heading to the house.trucker43, Eeyore05 and ASHLEYDRIVER2013 Thank this.
