. I find only 2nd rate drivers want to become dispatchers.Czar_Zero, black_dog106, JolliRoger and 2 others Thank this.

We have certain drivers where I work that definitely get beneath dispatchers if you catch my drift.
Where did OP go. Can’t start this type of thread and not expect some fireworks.
Dispatchers shouldn’t be thin skinned.streetglider and Coffey Thank this. -
It's not even that. There were no fireworks until the dispatcher admitted to tossing the driver under the bus for the companies incompetence. And then lying and stating he didn't do just that.
Then he gets upset at what he thinks of as a non-issue. Well, its obviously an issue.Czar_Zero, LoSt_AgAiN, Shackdaddy and 1 other person Thank this. -
I’m not surprised it happens.

I'm still here. There's a difference between people asking a question, and then people dogpiling on me over the assumption that I throw drivers under the bus by the dozens because it's fun. To date, I have never called a receiver and blamed a late load on a lack of driver responsibility or anything else. What I stated is that I was done talking about this subject (or otherwise defending myself from being harangued on an internet forum). Out of 75 posts on this thread, 23 have been about this single topic. And at this point, no matter what I say about this topic is going to be interpreted as either an admittance of perceived guilt or defending that perceived guilt. If that is taken as me being thin-skinned, then I can't help that.
I understand that this is a touchy topic (don't forget, I'm a driver with well over 1 million miles under my belt). But bandwagons are very easy to jump on, and that's what's happening here. So if you have a question, ask. Otherwise, enjoy talking amongst yourselves.Midwest Trucker, CorsairFanboy, lynchy and 1 other person Thank this. -
Is it a Michigan thing to be so ignorant? Or is it only a couple of you?jason6541 Thanks this.

For someone to say it's not personal when you screw over drivers, you are a might touchy there....Eldiablo, Dale thompson and streetglider Thank this.

you most certainly implied you would blame it on the driver if it is the company's fault your words- ("If the carrier tries to blame you and/or give you a service failure for their screw-up, then I don't blame you. But if I were to give you a load, and I tell you "look I know you can't make this on time, just run it in as soon as you can". And then I call the receiver and say "this load is going to be late because the driver broke down, met a cute girl, etc," that is me covering a load and saving face for the company. Would it be better for me to say "I'm sorry, but your load is going to be 2 days late because my company's owner forced us to accept more loads than we could cover"? We both know what would be the best solution to this problem is. But that's not gonna change. So that's what I mean when I say that it's not personal.")

Not of record, but many year ago we used 51 mph as a guide to when we could run it. Pre interstates, but lots less traffic then.
