Ok while youre out with your trainer its 420 a week and thats only 3 weeks long ...... When you solo out its 90 for 90 witch is 630 a week for 12 weeks ..... Once your 90 days are up you get .30 cents a mile ...... While youre on hometime you dont get paid ..... And on your first check you get a extra 150 and thats for orientation

And the may have another "guarantee" program in the works, "95 for 95" or some such program. who knows? Communication at May is almost as bad as their 5000-series trailers!

Don't worry about that stuff yet. Just get through a few days with Tom in Orientation and enjoy the free lunches.

It would be so much easier if the let you get out and look more. To day we went and did alley dock and not that I have a license I got my but out of the truck and looked as much as I wanted. Sometimes I think because they only let you get out twice at the dmv (one you have to save to get your dot bar in the box people think oh I never have to get out and look I should be able.to use my mirrors all the time . Crap on that im getting out and looking as much as it takes and if you make fun of me on the cb watch out cause I can take it bit I also can dish it out lol

In the 4 yrs I was out on the road some of the best drivers (backing) I saw were women. I've sat at truck stops and watched a driver do some difficult blindside back and thought to myself, "man, that DUDE can drive!", only to watch some petite woman jump out of the cab.

Once the DMV test is over with, get out of the truck as many times as you feel you need to. Turn the CB radio off and don't hit anything. If you are having trouble , usually someone nice will ask if you need help. As long as you don't hit anything, you did good!

In Texas, no getting out of the truck at dmv. No cones, just move from left lane and parallel park in the right lane. As the examiner said, back up in one move, pull up in one move. No stopping.
    Interesting how different states test.

During the Skills Test at May, get out and look as much as you want. In fact, get out and make sure that Shad (if you're in Brooks) sees that you have gotten out to look.

Going to call the recruiter again today. Put in an app about a month ago, but now actually have my cdl. I guess biggest prob is finding a trainer. Too bad they have a ladies only policy. I'm too old to worry about men... unless they dont shower. I'm also not shy about speaking my mind... :0)
I will say I dont like the micro managing, but overall May seems way better than most.
