I came in with exp, did 3 day orientation then was issued a truck and away i went. As long as you can pass the driving test and UA
all should be good. Good Luck

I have a couple of questions about May hiring practices, if one of you on this thread could help me out? How far away from May's OC will they hire? I live about 140 miles south of Brooks on I-5, and also I've read somewhere they don't like hiring self employed people, is this true? I will be finishing my training around the first of Feb. I've been following threads about many different companies, and May is one of the best, from what I've read.

I know that May has several drivers that live just off the I5
south of Brooks, so yes they will. As far as self employed, you always have tax records to back that up.

    CAM Thanks this.

    Hi there

what's running out of the Yolo yard like, good miles?

There is no "running" out of the Yolo yard. It is only a drop yard
for the Northern Ca area. A dirt (or mud ) yard with only a port-a-potty and more dirt (mud). Sometimes a guard at nnight will show.
but (?). At this time of year milage varies, between 1000 to 3500,
if your lucky. Too many variables to really pin it down. More miles
on the 48 state side than the 11 Western.

Thanks for your reply. Was looking at Mays website and looks like their closest OC is LA, but no info on how close you have to be, i guess living a mile from I5 would help though.

What's the time away from home like on 48 state out of Nor Cal?

I ran 11 Western and home time varies upon your needs. If you
live off I5 near WOODLAND you would leave your truck at the Yolo yard. As far as Hometime on the 48 side, my quess would be
in the 2-3 week area. Again alot will depend on your need and what
you can work out with your DM. Remember that 48 state means
you could be on the least(east) coast and have no freight to get you home on your requested days. Got to be alittle flexable on the times to get you home. OC's are in Fontana(really only a drop yard),Brooks (main one), Layton Ut, Payette Id, Denver,Co, and
Pensacola Fl. also have a drop yard in Auburn,Wa
