Before i went on the, um, "training adventure", I went to Goodwill and bought a cheap duffle for a few bucks. And yeah, an Army surplus duffel would have been too big. I also brought a courier bag for my paperwork, laptop, spare glasses, et al. Oh, and a sleeping bag (with stuff sack) and a pillow.
Each morning, I would tidy up a bit. After all, you're invading another man's personal space, so be as polite and considerate as possible. You'll get through it. We all did; you will too. It goes fast.

Thank you all for the advice. I realize that I am moving into a stranger's (extremely small) home away from home for 3 or 4 weeks and I don't want to be the subject of his horror stories he tells his friends at the next party. I hope to be the guy that makes his days better. That’s my way of showing my appreciation for him teaching me what I need to know. Being a licensed driver does not make me an experienced driver. What makes me different is I recognize that and respect it. At this point I am basically a licensed danger to the public. My miles with my trainer (At least theoretically) should change that. You’ll see me on the road. I will be the guy going 55. At least for now.

Start off by being politically correct and get to know your trainer by LISTENING. Keep between the the lines, socially and occupationally. You are there to learn. Keep the BS to a minimum. Turn off the CB and radio. Talk about driving and OTR lifestyle. Ask relevant questions. Be observant. Don't rush. Stay well rested. Eat well. Take care of yourself. Bath as often as available. Keep your moral up. Don't overthink things. GOAL. Communicate. Succeed. Wish you the best.

Hell, if I can do it, it can't be that hard.

Remember, someone loves you, don't ask me why ......

How big are the sleepers on the MTC trucks? Probably different for each make and model I am guessing.
