I am in school now in georgia. I was wondering if may was hiring in this area, and if so, what is the training time with trainer in truck, and how many days do they require before getting home once you have your own truck. Any dedicated runs, regional, intermodal, etc.. Any information would be appreciaed

Im in RoadMasters driving school right now. I dont know who to start with. I heard alot good things about May Trucking. I live in Florida between Orlando and Tampa. I know there is a depot in Pensacola, FL would I qualify living down here to be a driver.

"I was wondering if may was hiring in this area"

This can fluctuate often, It is best to give May trucking company a call to find out. ( I can not post that number here against Truckers Report TOS)

"what is the training time with trainer in truck, and how many days do they require before getting home once you have your own truck"

This is entirely based on you individually. There is no set time frame READY when you are, so to speak. Some get their own rig in Days others in 3 weeks or so! Depends on how you learn!

As for as the off time the policy is 21 days (three weeks) However I have heard rumor of a new facility opening on the east coast that would probably change the days out as well as your question on REGIONAL.
Currently the runs for you would be COAST TO COAST Fl to the north west and back.. (great miles.)

If you have any more questions do not hesitate to ask. :)

I can not say for 100 percent certain but I think it is likely yes... We haul for many costumers in the area. I have never had a problem picking up and delivering in your area..

Does anybody know when orientation is in Salem? Weekly, Monthly or is it done as needed? I just got accepted to May, I was just wondering how long the wait will be.

Orientations are held weekly to my knowledge. At least in Denver they are. Don't know much about orientation in brooks. Perhaps Steve can shed some more light on that.

Your orientation will start on a Monday, Tom should be your class room instructor, he is a good dude, tell him I said Hello! The same day of the week applies at all terminals that have a orientation class! Hope this helps, look forward to seeing you on the road one day brother trucker!

Does May hire newbies out of school? If they do I live in Florida do they hire drivers from Florida?
