Its not really common to me. I've never ran thru phx in almost two years here, but I'm also 48. An 11 western guy might be able to answer that better for you. I do know that it does not count against your hometime if you take your 10 there. If you run 11 western theres no problem being home every two weeks. I only see phx when I go home

For home time they have it down on paper as every 2-3 Weeks for 11 western, 3-4 Weeks for 48. And like joker said, if you pass through your home sure you can stop..... You can stop anywhere that's along your routing for as long as you want, as long as you make delivery ^.^
I left Denver on Saturday to Texas, went thru it again on Tuesday but just short of the terminal so I got a friend to pick me and get my car lol then just back on the road the next morning. Of course there are terminals that you will hit more frequently, especially if you are 11 western.

Speaking of physics, I did my first road drive last night at class. I knew how dangerous driving a big truck can be. I have a much bigger perspective on that now. I can see how easily a truck would roll over. After actually getting some true hands on, my awareness of speed and looking ahead for trouble has been heightened that much more.

BTW, I did fine. I just need to get the downshifting perfected and things should come together quickly.

Anyone happen to know where the dedicated parking in the Atlanta area would be? Preferably up I-85 north somewhere?!

This is probably outdated by now, but I was looking at May when I went through school and There's a truck center in Gainesville that you can park at, forgot how much it is a month, and they were ok with me parking there. At least the recruiter was.

Can any of you current drivers that run 48 give me a recent example of a route you just drove starting at the shipper and delivering to the receiver as far as trip planning, fuel stops, etc. Does May tell you which route to take and where to fuel or do they let you plan the trip yourself and take the shortest legal route and have accounts at certain fuel places so you can fuel where you need/want to or do they tell you where to fuel and how much fuel you can get at a particular place?

I have not seen this discussed so I was just curious how a trip goes for current drivers start to finish.

Yeah, I know I dug deep for that little jewel :biggrin_2559:

I was just curious because they hire out of Georgia so there has to be some place to park.

they will tell you where to go, how to get there, what route to take, where to fuel, how much fuel to get at that stop. we use comdata cards to fuel, and if you stop at the wrong place, it wont even let you fuel there. and the pump will USUALLY stop at the allotted amount if they didn't authorize a fillup (not sure about DEF). as long as you are on your routing, as far as breaks and where you stop for the night thats all up to you. like I posted earlier I was routed thru denver so I just stopped there for the night since thats where I live. you can go slightly off of route of course, like when I get to a shipper sometimes I go a few miles out of route to get to the nearest truck stop, I believe theres a rule or law or something, you are able to go up to like 20 or 50 miles? so that you have adequate facilities and not have to sit in a shipper/cosignees parking lot while you wait.... saw it posted somewhere lol
