I don't believe that's true anymore re experienced drivers. I just met a May driver who has 20 yrs previous exp and initially they didn't want him training because he'd make too much money.
Now they've changed their tune and are giving him whatever he wants to train: new truck, dedicated route, more $...

 

yes, because they cant get anyone else to train
does not mean they arent going to micromanage his butt off... thats where the opinion that may doesnt want experienced drivers comes in. hes gonna get what he wants sure, cause they're kissing butt to get trainers

 

All companies do what May is doing regarding sign-on bonuses. Every year May does this because there's a shortage of drivers and they are hiring like crazy to fill the truck seats. Winter comes and that all subsides.

 

No doubt, Blue, he acknowledged that he has to train the "May way " but he ain't driving that way.

 

..And don't forget .. Companies are freaking out and hiring like crazy because of the new HOS come July.

Hey all,
I passed my CDL test with all endorsements and am headed to May for orientation on May 21 in Denver, which will be my home terminal. I have already talked with my future trainer, ex military guy, by the book, and he sounds awesome!!!!!!
He drives a 2014 Pete 587, and I cant wait!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
