Ask A May Trainer

    A trainer should show you how to do the mountain right. again...key word is should. if they don't then ask for another trainer

    CDL school isnt going to teach you how to be a truck driver, thats just your license... nothing more
    which is why you get with a trainer with your first company, they show you how to do all the stuff you're worried about... and yet that still wont teach you how to be a truck driver. after all thats said and done, find scooter jones, he'll tell you what you need to learn to be a truck driver ^.^

    even if you did this in school, luckily getting my cdl in denver, in the winter, we got to go to the mountains, in some snow, not alot of course lol, and what did they do..... we just slowed the truck down and rode the jakes... even I was like um, should we go faster, the trainer at the school was like nope... just enjoy the ride lol

    there was snow on the ground, not on the road, it had snowed that week but not that day so the mountains were covered in snow but the roads were clear.

    but i got 40 hours is mostly snow covered yard time lol... learned real quick what the axle diff lock was for lol

    One of my former students at May is now the safety director at the Gary, IN terminal. I taught him everything he knows ;-)
