Hey KrisH, I've got a 1990 Pete long nose w 3406B that is doing the same thing. I've put new starter, solenoid, batteries, added another ground cable. Only way to get it to start sometimes is roll it and pop the clutch to jar the truck then it usually will start. Did you find the problem with yours? Thanks Rascal 5478

have a 2006 peterbilt modle 379. where is the fuse for the tail ligts?
-
we just got a 2014 579 and we are having trouble with the radio. We activated the sat radio, but it keeps losing signal. Where is the antenna for the radio? Also the Nav is really slow. How do you update it? Thank you.
-
-
On my 08 389 the antenna was mounted on the right mirror arm. Looked like a small box. Pretty sure the dealer handles all updates to the GPS.
-
the dealer has no ideal how to update the gps. none of the books say anything about the ant for the radio. the ant was on my mirror on my 07 389, but that is not where it is on this truck. we took the truck to the dealer, they said the in cab information system had a pinched wire and it was all go to go. It was not fixed, what dose a pinched wire has to do with the software? we also asked about the ant and they didnt know either. oh well!

1999 Pete 379LN.....upper left light came on dash (was told it kicked out a code and now turns on every-time and stays on).
went to Fife. WA. Pete parts and service and asked how to retrieve codes from truck (and turn off the light).....was told to get on the web and find out (never any help from those guys).
No mention anywhere about how to retrieve thrown codes from engine (press button and turn key, count flashes, etc.)
Any help? Cannot find manual to see display schematic and light identification. Would appreciate any help!!
Thanks. -
ok.....second time posting this (not sure why it keeps deleting without posting it or any posted answers!!)
I have a 1999 Pete 379LN...it kicked a dash light and was told it was because of a code it threw. Now this light stays on everytime I start the truck. Local Fife store told me to
"check the web for answers" to HOW does one pull the codes out of the unit without hooking it up to software (supposed to be easy, as in push button, turn key, count flashes,
find "manual with code descriptions"). Problem is, this does NOT work for 379s, and I can't find code manual descriptions. Any info would be appreciated. Also, same truck, odomoter
and trip counter stopped working, but speedometer still works (on the same display). Replaced the dual sensor on the back of the transmission (plastic was corroded), but it still does
not count the miles......any insight? (hopefully it is not the speed servo at $600)
