Hey, just curious. What is the average age of their new hires at TMC?

 

They've hired as low as 21, and have many guys in their late 50s. so long as you have a clean enough background and can physically do the job they will how you. My orientation clad average age was around 26

 

Does TMC have APUs in their trucks? How about automatics ?

 

New trucks are all autos , adding another 500 this year. No APU, but liberal idle policy.

 

How much vacation time does TMC offer, and does anyone here drive for TMC from Frostproof Lowes Distribution Center?

 

When I left in April it was 1 week after 1 year. 2 weeks after 2 years and 3 weeks after 10 years.

Worked out of Frostproof from 1st week of Jan to mid April. You will not starve. John will book you solid all week. Line haul and Lowes. You will rarely leave FL. You can gross $1200 week if you hustle, easily. You will work for it.

 

Does TMC require experienced drivers (6 months flatbed OTR) to go out with a trainer? Thanks.

 

Last I knew they didn't...if they're still doing the same as when I was there back in 2013, you'll be in the classroom for four or five days to do the administration stuff, then send you out in your own truck after that.

But that was then and I was also a rehire, so make sure you get that from a current driver in case I'm wrong.

 

They do CDL training and also hire new CDL drivers. There is info readily available on their website and YouTube video that explain all of that
