I liked parts of yard dog driving, and never even thought about sabotage of trailers.
I mainly pulled outbound at night. Some of the drivers you would see really scared me.
One lady pulled me over to hook up her airlines, and several needed help for high hooks.
Always make sure your hitting the first half of the fifth wheel, before going all the way under.
Tires also get popped frequently from yard dog guys pulling 180's on heavy loaded trailers.
I never acted like a rooster on the yard, but for some reason it does happen.
Were all trying to move freight![]()

Yeah, it picks up items that would otherwise wind up in tires. Take a close look at one sometime, it's probably coated in nails, screws and jagged pieces of metal.NavigatorWife Thanks this.

The point is to not get caught. And admit to nothing... LOL! This is all part joke anyway.
With this said, I'm sure your 'DC' is the pinnacle of badassary. However, just remember those cameras can tell a story by both sides.
Example: Years ago I was training in a new driver, and we were going to a certain 'DC' that had strict rules for wearing safety gear on site(steel toed boots etc etc). One overzealous 'DC' employee used to carry a hammer and check drivers feet by smacking them in the toe area to make sure they were wearing steel toed safety boots. Well I forgot to warn this new driver about this guy(the new driver could probably have been a NFL line backer in his youth). One can guess at what happened. The 'DC' a-hole smacks our new driver in the foot... Our new driver smacks him in the face, and knocks him out... a full on, one punch knockout. Following this event, supervisors were called, on both sides as well as the cops. One observant cops noticed camera's all over the area, and requested to view what happened... Luckily, two separate cameras could see the 'DC' a-hole hitting the new driver on the foot with a hammer. Cops, then explained to the 'DC' hammer wielder that they would have probably punched him as well, if he did something like that to them. Cops then asked if the new driver wanted to press assault with a deadly weapon charges on the 'DC' employee. New driver said, "Well, if he's going to press assault charges, then yes I will too". Charges were then dropped on both sides. To this day we still laugh about this event.

OPUS 7, NavigatorWife and LongRoadTrucker Thank this. -
That's insane!! Going around with a hammer smacking toes of complete strangers?
This story had a happy ending -
Thank you. I like to think that if I had done this or known this in the past, I might even still be otr. Who knows. But I enjoy what I do and find it even fun to an extent.Wargames Thanks this.

OPUS 7, It was strange... This guy would BS with you bit, but it certainly was a little odd. Fact is, once he did it to you, you remembered... and when he walked up to you again... a person was on guard for it. And he never did it when you were paying attention... I have heard stories of this guys sneaking up behind people to do it, but it never happened to me... He did get me the first time I was there(I didn't one punch him like our new driver) as well, but after that I was always on the lookout for him.
He was transferred after this event... and I found out where he now is, interestingly.. I also heard he still is doing the hammer hit to the toe thing as well... Guess some guys just never learn.OPUS 7 Thanks this. -
I hated wearing a cup playing football, well because it hurt when you were hit there. So one day our coach goes around and smacks the players in the crotch to see if you were wearing a cup(this was Pop Warner)He knew I didnt like to wear one, just looked at me and kept walking. Now a days hed be in jail for smacking some kid in the twig and berries to see if he was wearing a cup.lol.
LongRoadTrucker Thanks this. -
At my Warehouse, nobody has time for that crap. Do you realize how badly that 30 seconds can take from the bigger picture? and no, it's not 30 seconds, it's a minute to two minutes if you're doing it right and safely. All the guys at my company when we get a trailer loaded up with building materials to go to a job site, we are on extremely tight schedules. If you need to crawl under the trailor to deal with the landing gear, get knee pads.
I can almost garuntee, any guys moving trailors, etc. if they are talking, they aren't just BSing. -
Why do some people like to jack the trailers up a mile high, is there some reason, or is it a kick so that the person picking it up has to lower it a mile.
