Filled out a APP today and was told to call back tomorrow to talk to the right person. A buddy and I are thinking of running teams.

Absolutely correct. Get it done up front. You can get your CDL permit in your state of residence, but you do need to have the permanent copy of it - not a paper temporary.

U2 and I have been advising this for a LONG time.

    Donnyh and DirtySideDown Thank this.

They are accepting paper copies of the permit (along with a regular State DL) from states that do not issue a "hard copy" permit. I know, as mine is one of those states, and Prime had no problem with it.

That's true, but if you show up with paper from a state that issues "hard copy" - plan on doing it all over again.

What do you guys think an exceptable amount luggage is to for training? I have a laptop bag, medium size duffel (it will fit an overhead compartment in a airplane) and a Pillow. I'm training in late February and I don't want the look of disbelief from my instructor. Thanks

That'll be fine. Don't forget shower clogs and a sleeping bag.

Thanks iron pony I got those too. When training, does the instructor/trainer give you a certain amount of storage; or is it up to him or her?

No doubt on the shower clogs....
Might want to get as much clothes and toiletries that you can pack.....
You do not want to spend money at the truck stops unless necessary .
