It's 33cpm to 80,000 miles, plus the 5cpm bonus for driving a lightweight. Then there is the fuel bonus. At 80,000 miles (training counts for this), you get the 1cpm raise to 34cpm.

Is it at all possible to get off your trainers truck early to get your own I understand that if you need the training you need it but when it comes down to a decision of your trainer going to let you off early because your doing great and all sudden he needs money so he says he's going to keep you longer so he can make more money that's sounds like the decision of a democrat doing what benefits him and not carring about anybody else and the fact they have worked so hard to get where they are and need to make money as well I have bills to pay to and him holding me to his benefit because I'm doing well and he gets to take home 3000 to 6000 a week starts discuriging you as a TNT trainee you don't get to make much and he was telling me how great I'm doing and that he's going to let me off early because he thinks I'm ready but then his daughter calls and ask if they can take a cruis this summer so then he decides he's guna keep me longer for his benefit while in the mean time the money factor is killing me and I want to get out there and make myself some real money rather than working so hard to pay his bills please give me some input on this thank you

Other people are significantly more qualified than I am to address this, but how early are you talking? I know there are minimum mileage requirements in place, and then they can hold you beyond those if you need the additional time. Are you at the minimum and ready to upgrade but he has said he believes you need additional time? Or are you trying to leave the training phase prior to completing the minimum miles?

It was my understanding (and I may be wrong) that around the time that you would be eligible for upgrade, a meeting would be set up between you, your trainer, and someone from safety. At that point there was supposed to be input from all involved as to when you would be ready to upgrade.

I understand you wanting to get turned loose, but keep in mind that they are putting you behind the wheel of an 80,000 pound machine and entrusting you with millions of dollars in cargo. Take advantage of all the training you can and don't risk your life or the lives of other drivers because you couldn't wait to get off the trainer's truck.

I do respect what your saying and yes I agree but there comes a point when someone can only show you so much I understand the safety and the risk of my job and I'm very safe but it's annoying when he keeps you longer because he needs money when I drive he sleeps there is no training going on anymore

I'm confused when you say you are at the minimum and also state he was going to recommend you to upgrade early. How many TNT miles do you have? If you qualify for upgrade (mileage and your trainers recommendation) then, yes you can. You need to flat out have this conversation with your trainer, not with us. Include your FM in the conversation if need be. If I had ever felt my trainer was being dishonest with me, or about me to management, I'd be off the truck.

Your decision. If he insists you are not ready, you can demand a new trainer, but I doubt they'll take your word over his and just upgrade you without independent confirmation.

By the way, you are prolly not going to be banking much more as an A seat right off the bat. Prime pays its trainees pretty well. Also, all your dispatched team miles count toward pay raises. It will take you a lot longer to reach them solo.

Dude...why do you keep copying and pasting the same post? Chill. You will get more replies when some more people log in. You can't do anything about it until at least tomorrow anyway.

As for running like a team, I believe that's how it works during TnT. If you have your miles in, there are absolutely no other issues, and you're still on the truck solely for his financial benefit, it may be an issue for you to bring up with your DM. But be aware that if/when you do, your trainer will likely justify to the DM why your need more time. Personally, I think it would be in your best interest to just tough it out for another week or two. Keep bringing it up with your trainer and discuss with him when you can upgrade. Certainly Prime is also talking with him and asking when you'll be ready.

One final thought for you...its great that you are confident and comfortable with your skills and that speaks well of Prime's training program. But when you think you know and have seen it all, step back and take a long hard look at it, because just when you think you've seen it all, life has a way of throwing a curveball. Stay safe out there.

Thank you for the info and that was an accident post that so many times I was doing it on my phone and when I hit the back button it would post again but yes I have been so grateful so far towards prime they have been an amazing company and have treated me very well and yes the pay is great as a TNT but another part is I'm also a newly wed and have been toughing this out for sum time now and being in the truck with another man this long is def not fun at all I just think that the only thing prime should change is there rules for trainers for 1 who they let train just because u been driving for a year does not make you no where near ready to train someone else I was luck and have previous experience so I've done realy good and passed all my test the first time around at Springfield but I know I don't know everything I have a long way to go and I'll still never knw everything you learn new stuff everyday and I have a major respect for the road the equipment and this company I would not be where I am today if it was for prime and them being so generous but they do need to have meetings with each trainer and student every week for performance and motivation they don't need to just let anybody train ecspecialy just because they want extra money for a short time if they need money that bad go team if the only reason the person is training is because they need a few quick dollars they should not let that person train because there mind is not set on training you it's set on the money and that is a problem when it comes down to training there focus should be you and training you the right way and compleating your training not on the extra few quick dollars it hinders the students motivation and focus when a trainer tells you the only reason he's holding onto you is cuz he needs the money and then as soon as you get off he's taking a cruise that realy killed me knowing he's holding me back just to benefit him and that traing has nothing to do with it prime needs to communicate between the driver and the student weekley and take progress reports if they care about the student and where he is in his training
