It's been some time since I talked to a Western Regional company guy, but when I have talked to them in the past it was my distinct impression that they primarily ran the 10 western states. Dispatch mostly kept them out there, and the drivers usually had to askto get a run out east of the Rockies is what more than one Western Regional driver told me. They used to put a distinctive logo on their tractors (again, I really can't say this with any authority) but it's been some time since I saw one out this way. Maybe they just don't put the Prime CHD logo on them any longer.
Given this disconnect, perhaps you should ask the recruiters for some additional information on the subject?

Thanks Ironpony, just wondering. Our recruiter indicated we would get runs west but 6 weeks in the farthest west we have gotten is Wy.
Lol, guess we should be grateful we are keeping busy..
like Prime, dislike the choices given re: trucks available for lease-mostly short term.
Trying not to do the comparison thing, it's just hard when you go from a 2013 Cascadia to a '10 cascadia.
Ah well, so it goes.. -
The standard lease term is 3 years, and trucks are rotated out of the fleet at that point. So, you can figure the model year of a short term lease quite easily.
Have you checked out the "Leasing at Prime" thread yet? -

i must be the only one in the fleet with a 100. I say one hundred because there is no 1000.
now, I'm pretty sure if your truck has a 100, they didn't upgrade you to a 200 unless you payed for it yourself. I watched a L/O make an ### of himself at the Friday Safety meeting complaining about the shop refusing to give him the new model.
older trucks still have the 100, all newer trucks have the 200. I think there is still another year before all the trucks with a 100 are retired. -
It's not a bad deal to lease an older truck. They only keep reefer trucks for 3 years, so if you lease a 2010, you won't keep it long. I believe you can custom order a truck w/ whatever you want on it after you've completed a lease.
