According to amazon's current prices, the deluxe laminated version is $51... however the company store sells them for $35.

LOL, One of my ex students, just got his truck a 2010, with the old model of the QC. But all the new trucks get the 200 with Nav.

As of right now I just have one question. What are the different ways to receive your paycheck, Bank Direct Deposit, loaded on some bank card or other. My wife and I just want to make sure we both will have access to my pay when needed.

Bring a voided check for direct deposit. Add it to your check list when you are packing.

Check via snail mail - bad idea.

Direct deposit - have it go to a joint account, available on Friday. Like Cableguy said, you'll need a voided check at orientation to set it up. Takes a couple of pay cycles for it to start working.

You can have your funds loaded on your ComData fuel card that you'll get at orientation - this is where it all goes in the beginning. It has two accounts attached to it: a business side that we use for business expenses on the road, and a personal side that works like a normal debit card. You can authorize funds from the personal account on a ComCheck (via phone) that she could then cash at a bank - as long as she has the check blanks. This is a little clumsy. She (and you) can get check blanks at most truckstops, or at our terminals.

So here's what I would recommend... basically for everyone. Have part of your check loaded onto the Comdata card, cash that you would normally want for your personal expenses on the road. You can have access to the funds on Thursday (normally) via any ATM you come across. The rest of it, load into a joint checking account via direct deposit. That way your wife can take care of the bills, and she gets access to the funds (normally) on the next day - Fridays. Most banks will allow you each to have a debit card on a checking account, so if you need more cash yourself for some reason, you just use any ATM. Mind you, to avoid having her want to separate your tender parts from you in a violent manner, you'll need to talk to her about hittin' your bank account up front!

Bank holidays move things out one business day... Comdata funds available on Friday, direct deposits on Monday. Payroll always reminds us that week that this is going to happen.

Now you'll note that I said, "Let your wife take care of the bills." This is probably the best arrangement that you guys can get into. She's going to have all the stuff that arrives via the mail right there, so letting her take care of the household stuff just makes sense. Give her control of everything that goes into the bank account, and if you need some - make sure you negotiate that with her up front. Nothing like having a long-distance PO'd spouse to really screw-up your day... and to get you distracted into doing something stupid with an 80,000 lb vehicle.

The check via snail mail is no longer an option. They did away with it. I just got through orientation and they had that section crossed out.

A good plan. I wonder if anyone still gets one that way?

Mea culpa. When I looked it up on Amazon, there were other sellers offering it for $40.
