Come on now, if you were a true professional-like the other guy here-your avatar information would say,
"Trucker? 44 years," and you would be a skeleton driving a rig. -
Lol. Sure sounds perfect but I am not a fan of lying or giving false info. I try my best to be accurate on here and apologize for the times I make mistakes.PikesPeak Thanks this.

which raises a question, on the LW trucks do you have an option not to run the super singles ??
-
No... not as a company driver. I've run them for five years and never have had a problem.
-
thanks Pony ! I would think the singles would be terrible in the wet/ and snow
-
In fact wide singles work quite well in inclement conditions, have just as much traction as duals, and are much easier to recover in a skid than duals. They also have a lower rolling resistance that get you better fuel economy.
redoctober83 Thanks this. -
Low rolling resistance is achieved by low friction or low grip. Hell ya they get worse grip in the winter, but that doesnt mean they are difficult to control or dangerous. You go just a little bit slower out the ice is all no big deal. At least prime gives us locking diffs without em singles would really suck.
-
No it doesn't... that's a common misunderstanding about these tires. The rolling resistance is more connected with the kind of materials used in the tire tread, and how it dissipates energy. You can certainly get an aggressive lug design if that floats your boat, but even the lowest RR wide single "holds the road" just as well as the highest RR dual tire.
