There's one for $50k in Newnan ga, but it's been sitting there not sold since August. No refrigerator, drum brakes. Bet it has issues. This one however hasn't been on the market along time lease end trade in from a fleet with the top end interior and disk brakes. International trucks don't always have the best reputation, but I know parts are available like on freightliners because they are mass produced. I can probably run it like hell for the one year it has a warranty and pay it off so it will be easy to repair things later. Most fleets are trading now at 550-600k because they can't get trucks in.

I would +1 the steering fluid reservoir as it has broken on my company LT. Something our trucks saw a lot of was failed carrier bearings so might want to see if it has been replaced. There was a time when the VGTs were getting replaced by regular turbos, not sure if it was price or reliability, but I can't say if it's still regularly practiced. For most things the last year has been fairly drama free, aside from an engine gasket that took 3 weeks to get the part for at the dealer. I don't know what others are talking about with it being cramped. I guess a double bunk would make it a bit worse, but I've never really lacked for space or storage.

The main thing on these new trucks is the emissions system.. I am just passing on my knowledge of running an emissions truck as an o/op.. You never think u will have problems until you do . and they get expensive real fast with emissions. Me personally i would want full service records on the emissions system .. If its going to cost 65k i want new tires and brakes , fully detailed and all new sensors on engine and aftertreatment and new dpf..not baked, brand new. all that replaced before I even touch it and the price is still to high...

I was running a 2350 cummins which is the generation before the x15 ... Practically the same engine and mine started pushing coolant at 640k miles..rhats about all u can get out of these cummins with emissions on them.. Meticulously maintenaned since it was in my possesion at 400k miles.... Its a used truck. Dont think you wont have problems with it..

Can you show a picture of said carrier bearing or what it looks like failed. I don't know what they are talking about space also I drove a prostar at celadon and it had plenty of space in a double bunk. The bunk is an additional storage area lol without a mattress.

Carrier bearing is the middle support of the drive shaft. I mixed up your question with your response about space. Yeah, I don't know exactly what went wrong but it got noisy and shaky of I remember correctly.

I'm going to try to get them to do tires when I negotiate if I negotiate on it it depends on if I like it or not when I am there. Yes emissions systems are expensive after warranty. There will definitely be issues. Hopefully not for awhile since it's at a international dealer I know they have ran it through there shop inspected it fixed some things already after it was traded in to meet standards for them to offer a warranty. I will be asking for service records. I am going to have to figure it out quickly and hopefully I can make it work and make money.

We’ve had two kick rods out, this year. Most have had topend issues. My previous employer had experienced the same. Both buy MX13’s, now.

I drove a 579 midroof. A Cascadia is definitely roomier than it, the LT, and my T680. Volvo is the roomiest.

I have never bought a truck from dealership so i cant say from my own experience.. But i have read multiple threads on here about guys having warrantys and the dealers not standing good on it.. You have to remeber that warranty is only going to be good at a dealer network and even if its not a hard repair its the downtime that can knock you out before you know it.. Im just trying to help you out.. Its not easy running these trucks down the road... I wish you luck in your journey.. Sounds like u have ur mind made up.. Reach out if you ever need help .

Yep not easy and it's risky. If I don't like the truck I won't buy and just stay as a company driver for awhile longer. I would prefer a lower mileage truck, but there isn't a lot of options on the market. Leasing a new truck would be difficult right now and more expensive. So I figure start with a used one and in a year or so I can trade for new. Lower cost truck easier to pay off and if I want to park it for awhile I won't have a payment sooner is my idea for right now.

Have you maybe considered running your overall idea by some of the "regulars" on the following thread (if you haven't already):
