Hah sorry for the mess. I probably used the wrong words. But from what I can tell they seem to be some of the preferable companies for drivers with zero experience. Correct me if I'm wrong though, unfortunately I'm limited to what I read on the internet.

I forgot maverick. I think they pay pretty good.

And there is nothing wrong with starting at tmc or Melton. You gotta start somewhere. Will you be there in 5 Years? Probably not, but it’s a fine first job.

I wanted to pull tanks, did I get the best job right away? Hell no, but I did get a tanker job hauling used cooking grease lol. Got enough experience and moved on.

It’s all about experience, get it where you can in the beginning. Will it be a perfect job? Probably not but it’s not like you’ll be miserable.

Not much difference in any of them.
Swift gets bashed on here a lot, but their flatbed division has an excellent reputation.
    Try Swift and Roehl Transport.

For a training company you could do a LOT worse. I'd add melton to that list.

Keep searching and you will quickly see a theme building. The starter flatbed companies are much much better than starter van and reefer companies. And you are much more likely to be able to tolerate the first few years getting the experience needed to open doors at the good companies.

Leery me clarify one thing. By starter flatbed company i mean a company thats main focus is open deck trailers such as tmc. Not a company that has a minor flatbed division like prime or western express.

What is it about trucking, that you have found, that makes it seem like a good fit for you?

Not trying to be a jerk or anything. It is more curiousity than anything. I hear this a lot and then people get into and find it is quite different.

Yes, because I doubt TMC will hire him; maybe I'm wrong. He's been unemployed for 2 years.
Actually, Roehl and TMC both reject applications often due to employment history.

Try Jones Bros. Trucking in Missoula,Montana. It's a smaller company with a cdl school.

Yep. When I was in trucking school I got a prehire from them and was very close with signing with TMC. During the process had to provide very detailed work history.

There was one month I was off work. Left a job on the Tuesday before Thanskgiving. Was supppsed to start a new job that next Monday. The company decided to wait till after the first of the year to bring us on and start training. I had to provide details on what I was doing during that time and such. It was a lot to go through.

Prime is the same way. One guy posted on here that Prime rejected his application because he was fired from McDonalds while he was in high school. He worked there part time and missed a few days during the exam period because he was studying for the exams. Maverick, Roehl, TMC are about the same concerning that.
Figure, the guy was probably 17 or 18 in high school and now he's 21 and Prime won't hire him even though he's had a steady job since graduating from high school.

Yeah. I ended up pulling reefers instead.
