I know there is a Hiring Freeze on for Federal Employees, but it won't last forever. You might want to check into a civilian job on an AFB. I work at Tinker in the Depot, KC-135, and you sound like you would be a prime candidate for hire. Can't beat the vacation, sick time, starting pay, bennies, and the job itself. If you were a crew chief it would be a piece of cake for you. I was a crew chief on C-5's for 20 yrs and 135's for 7 and I've been doing this job, (135 post dock), for the last 8, the transition is a piece of cake. Since your in Ga. you might want to check at Warner Robbins. I know Tinker has been hiring like crazy, we have the new KC-46 coming here in a couple of years, the mainteinance complex is being built as we speak and they are currently hiring for all positions related to it.. Altus will be hiring soon also to do training and the jets down there will need maintainers also. Check USAjobs.gov and just type in the base or area you are interested in to see what they are hiring for. Unless your just dead set on trying the trucking deal, this is an alternative way to go.

 

Try Carolina Logistics. Do the online application before calling so they have something to look at when you do call. They provide meals & lodging at their cdl school.

 

First screw that honest and upfront approach. The recruiters will not be honest and upfront with you. Don't give them respect they have not earned.

Your shoplifting charge is in limbo base on your completing your program. Do not mention it as it will go away. Don't mention your drug use as knowledge of your drug use will only cause you problems. Don't use drugs they mess up your brain and therefore cause you to miss out on life. Reality as designed by the Creator is much better then drug induced false visions.

I use to refuel under a KC 135. My daughter is out at Luke, married to an airman, she went up in a tanker today as a matter of fact as a civilian.

Stealing is a no no. Getting caught stealing is a bigger no no. Stealing food is just plain stupid. Too many places will feed you.
Get to a local VA hospital and tell them you are having problems readjusting. Help is there.

 

You're qualified to join USAA credit union. They'll loan you the $500.00 for the fees at Millis Transfer. It's a really good credit union for veterans and their families.

What did you fly? We use to have those flights for civilians in the unit I was in. They came back in total awe, had a blast.

Awesome! That and the Tomcat were/are my favs. At the airshows I went to I'd rather have watched the Strike Eagle show than T-Birds or Blue Angels. Eagles are B-A-D #####!!!
