Still enjoying your ishift? I was thinking about getting a 780 with the D13 and ishift sometime in the future. Is that what your driving? I have a 2013 670 now with the ISX15 and 10 speed. I love the volvo part but the ISX15 lacks power (mostly because my company got the 400hp one) and seems like it drinks a lot in fuel. I'm just barely getting 7mpgs. I'm curious if the D13 would do any better. Any problems with the ishift at all?

Love it still. For me the D13 has all the power I need. Our average load in the box is around 47k and I run west coast only so fuel mileage might be skewed for your expectations in that I climb several passes every week. I average 6.6 mpg and the company is thrilled with that.

That's awesome. I run over here in the northeast and a typical load for me is around 32k. I don't pull too many hills, or not the same as the ones out west and I barely get 7mpgs. So I think your 6.6mpgs is pretty good for what your pulling and where your doing it.

Been on a 2012 d13 with i-shift and eco-roll since new 11/12/2011 I run tanker around central mn. and western ws. I love the truck and its performance and I have learned a few tricks that I could share with you all. I do run empty half the time so my mpg is good, last year I averaged 7.83mpg for the whole year. I use the eco-roll all the time setting the jake 6-8 mph higher than the cruise setting. Now I always cruise about 5mph below the speed limits, that way i dont ever talk to the law. My motto with this truck is roll, baby, roll and have found ways to force an eco-roll. With the cruise and jake set when i approach my exits I pull the jake into #1 position for one second and quickly back to the A position. In about 1-2 seconds the truck will eco roll. Sometimes if the terrain is right I could roll safely for 1 mile. When forcing a roll all cruise control rules apply by tapping the brake , manual applying the jake or manually downshifting the I-shift selects the proper gear. I have 200k miles on this truck now and have never had any issues with the tranny. Sometimes when I crest a hill I accelerate enough so that the eco-roll will engage earlier and I can roll for a longer time. Another amazing trick i learned is how to set the tranny to learn to skip shift once I am empty. I normally drive with a really light foot so this trick took me awhile to figure out. When empty go trough the lower 6 gears normally but maybe a little more aggressive but gears 7 to 12 increase your throttle pressure as your rpms increase. This will make the i-shift reconize that their is less load and the next time you stop it should be in 3-4 gear and then will skip shift up. Now I only get this to work about 80% of the time, but it sure makes stoplights more interesting

Nutcase, thanks for your inquiry. I could not tell you the exact specs of the truck as it is a company truck that was assigned to me . What i can say is that it is a 2012 volvo daycab [without the fancy hood] that has a d13 volvo engine equiped with an i-shift 12 speed auto with the premium shifter and the eco roll option. I do not know the exact ratio of the rear ends but doing 70 mph you are out of the operating range [sweet spot] most of my routes are city driving with a 60mph speed limit. I have been getting amazing mpg out of this truck, but as i mentioned in an earlier post most of the time i'm only going 55 mph. I use the eco roll system in this truck at every oppertunity i can safely do it and it has acctually been fun to find new places where i can utilize it. Hope this helps some sorry i dont know the diff ratio but i find out from my soup and get back to you. Happy trails

There should be a decal on the door jam of the drivers door. It will usually list the rear end ratio, transmission, color, etc.

    What about tire size?
