I have noticed that sometimes when you dont come to a complete stop the i shift wont shift up normaly so i have to manual up shift which i dont have an issue with but i found that if you pull it into manual or back off and put it in neutral for a second then put it back in drive it resets and shifts properly

Yep. Me too.

Love my Volvo. Yesterday had my Volvo dealer pull my mpg off my ECM. This is a 2011 Volvo 12 D13 with I-shift mid roof with no air dam on roof. Purchased new 2 years ago. Mileage is only 180,408 (been off the last 6 months due to family situation). I haul van with range of weight east of Mississippi. I have air tabs. I was very surprised at the numbers.
Driving (on foot) 10.03 mpg (89% of time) and Cruise 6.6 mpg. Average 9.9 mpg.
Dealer was very surprise that one could do better than the computer/cruise control. -
im not surprised by that, well some of the new euro cruise controls 'know' when they are going up or downhill with GPS etc but the standard ones don't and obviously you're a good driver that knows how to use the trucks momentum on the hills!
Do you guys think Volvo get bad reviews from drivers here in NA unfairly? I've owned euro versions and they are really good , the us ones are a little plasticky in comparison but I'm geussing that's to save weight as the cabs are huge but the important stuff is still good, right? -
thats impressive milage i run a 2011 d13 daycab with ishift and eco roll last year i averaged 7.83 for the whole year. in the summer the best mo i had was 8.84 and that took many days coming in at 9.3 to do it. great job dude. what do you mean by 'air tabs' and do you have the ecoroll on your truck

So What everyone is saying is that their I shift is good right. And it helps with fuel economy what about repairs how long before they go down?
-
I think they don't get great reviews because there older engines didn't perform as well as the competitions at the time. I believe they are making an engine just as well if not better than Cummins or Detroit.
If you notice, when some asks on this site about this or that engine goes you get a lot of opinions, but many are in relation to an older model, which doesn't help anyone.Scania man Thanks this. -
I had a new 2011 CRAPCADIA and it was a nightmare. My Volvo has only been in for a couple adjustments, and the only code/ fault was an air inlet heater that was a 5 min rePlace. My dealer has been awesome, I love my I shift and when this ones 4 yrs old ill be ordering a new one for sure.
Scania man and The Challenger Thank this. -
