I think Dave should look into the LTL companies or see what local jobs are open there might be some shuttle job where he takes trailers from A-B all day.

Trucking is kind of repetitive in a way and some jobs are like conveyor belt work almost take a trailer from A to B drop at B pick up trailer on other side of B's building and take it back to A and then start process over again you may to that process 4-5 times a day.

Great Lakes OTR at Superior Beverage Group is like that distributor to brewer back to distributor 5 runs a day 5 days a week it never changes.

Stone interesting points. I recall Werner coming to talk with my class in cdl school and they mentioned the dollar general account. From what I've seen around here you are correct, some of those stores have some sketchy areas to back into. I'd be willing to give it a shot, although I'm willing to give just about anything a shot in a semi. As far as LTL, I'm pretty interested in it. A good buddy of mine runs for ODFL out of Waco. Unfortunately I do not currently have my hazmat.

According to McElroy they can't get me into orientation in Ennis until the 1st of May. I'm really wanting to get going next week though. I'm going stir crazy so I'm trying to find other companies, preferably flatbed.

Hey Mike, I actually used to run shuttle trailers here in town but the work dropped dramatically leading me to move on unfortunately. Jeff St drop and hooks all day and bumping docks. I enjoyed it, but it only lasted a month before the work decreased to just a couple of hours a day.

Exactly right. It just depends on the operation the beer company I worked for there shuttle never dropped off no sir. They had a couple different runs, Cleveland to Miller-Coors in Trenton, Ohio and Great Lakes Brewery.

Obviously Cleveland to Trenton was a bigger shuttle run, but it was one to the other. Well supposedly. They got into hauling back haul loads and that kind of made things hard because you would have to go to a place get loaded with bottles take those to Pepsi in Cincy and then unload those and then you could get your trailer of beer for the drive back.

Getting the back hauls screwed stuff up. However true shuttle doesn't work like that.

UPS's Cartage division might be a good start, that's kind of like shuttle only it's more involved because your actually watching freight get loaded and unloaded.

Hell Orland Bread here in Cleveland had Class A CDL job open and I think that was mostly shuttle although they might have some longer hauls to Alpha Baking in Cinncinatti, but that's mostly trailer from the bakery to cold storage back to the bakery.

Have you looked at the Bread Companies?
Nickles and Schwebles in Ohio sometimes have job openings for Class A drivers. What you are doing is taking trailers of bread to the Bread Truck distribution outlets. The trailer is filled with bread from the bakery or plant what ever you want to call it and transport it to the distribution point where you unload at there bread truck garage and the step van store delivery guys take it to the store.

Just received an email from Coleman/Allied for a driving position locally. I guess we'll see what the position has to offer tomorrow once the interview is conducted. I'm assuming as majority of it will be moving people's #### lol. If the hour pay isn't sufficient then I'll continue with one of the regional positions I have the all clear for. I need the miles.
