Apparently it's .32 a mile with extra pay for shorter runs, supposedly averaging 2000-2200 a week. Mainly TX with the occasional run to OKC or Baton Rouge. Home either Friday and out Sunday, or home Saturday, and out Monday. Mainly night driving with departures between 12-4am. I personally prefer night driving. Tuition reimbursment which would go directly to me since I paid out of pocket for school, and supposedly a 7,500 "sign on bonus." One thing I'm not too stoked about is that the SNI trucks are bare-bones. Nothing like what you'd get running for Keim TS or System Transport but oh well.

Heck with your stature, flatbed would suit you well! I'm almost 250 at 6-two.... what's THAT tell ya? I've done flatbed a few winters when my asphalt slows down... it's just not for me. It's not the tarping, it's the securement that I was NEVER taught. Had a trailer dragging brakes on fire with a tripod, had a load HOP about a mile from the receiver (which was a one-way street in CLE) ...... and wife and kid were with..... She knew more about proper securement than I . And another time, I got pulled over because my "OVERSIZED" SIGN was upside down; told the officer I was paying a tribute to Dezi .... it was the anniversary of "I Love Lucy" 30 years removed. I got lucky a few times, but it's just not me! LoLoL.
Boxes are fine; i did my due dilligence. FedEx/LineHaul doubles about made me rethink why i'm here. Yet, I plugged on.
That's all you NEED to do, man. Whatever works for starters, a year is no time at all... Y'all got skype and FB and all that to keep in touch; just KNOW going into SNI you will NOT be able to call anyone (unless it's changed, correct me, @Thull if I'm wrong.)
Company I'm with now, provided me with a FLIP fone.. yep, and text is disabled. Verizon, Parrot, I'm good. Wife even gave up her smart phone so I don't feel so "alone" and decapitated, LoL! We got the techno goodies at home... we're fine. One less phone bill, anyway!!
Let us (me) know how it goes, bro. I'm just wishing you the best. I read your posts elsewhere.... I know you are trying. Be blessed...ttys!

Will do sir. I'm not going in expecting anything spectacular but a steady paycheck would be greatly appreciated lol. If I could swing 2000 miles a week, I'd make about what I would make around running for 15-16 an hour, which I can't even find around here at the moment. Definitely nothing to brag about, but the added experienced regardless who it's with will give me better opportunities once it's all said and done. Stay safe Tomcat.

Okay, I'll show how stupid I am.... what the hell is a wedge trailer?

Please update this thread as you can to keep us posted.

Best of luck with Schneider Dave, you deserve a good turn of events.

I'm right there with ya buddy, I didn't know what a wedge trailer was until I browsed the net. It's basically a single level car hauler for lack of a better term. Also, I do intend to keep this thread alive to detail my upcoming life change, as it will be a complete 180 compared to what I'm used to. Should be interesting but I'm always up for a challenge. Thanks SZ, stay safe.

I hear ya Tomcat, I'm heading to an interview in an hour for a position that will have me home a couple nights a week usually, weekends off, at .40 a mile. I'm sniffing out leads like a blood hound at this point.
