I have Sprint, coverage is ok (not good as ATT or VW). Out of major city you get internet 3G, radio plays, but still is buffering sometime, depends on how many kbps.
Tmobile is great in Seattle, Dallas, Vegas i mean the LTE is really fast, but in some areas is dead, i mean 100 years from the store where is super fast speed, its dead. Out of city Tmobile data sucks, use on your own risk. I cant get in touch with friends who has Tmobile sometime.
ATT and VW are the best, always good speed. Its up to you.
AT&T or Verizon?

I think it has more to do with where you run. I currently have Verizon but I think that I had better coverage with Sprint. AT & T used to be rather spotty and dropping calls was common. I think that they have improved their coverage area. I know people who use AT & T who like their service. According to a tech that I spoke with about a year ago, Sprint and Verizon have the best national coverage.

I have ATT for my personal cell phone, and the company I drive for uses Verizon, so I actually carry both.
In the interest of fairness I should also mention that I drive around the oil fields of West Texas......and can honestly say that both of them are great, BUT that neither one of them are perfect, but I do have the advantage that when one does not have service in BFNowhere, the other one usually will.....Jrivas23 Thanks this. -
Verizon is the best...but the most expensive

Device is $75, plan is $50 a month no contract.
Since it works with the ATT Network (Second best in the USA) service and coverage is pretty decent and a good way to save an extra $30 compared to Milinicom... -
They are No-Contract Monthly Prepaid and they operate using the ATT towers (like mentioned before they are the US 2nd best network).
Put simple: If you own an ATT Smartphone or have the chance to show up at your local Walmart, Bestbuy, Radioshack or whatever retailer that sells ATT No Contract Smartphones (Some of them go for less that $120) you'll be all set.
For more info you could always go into their website net10byop.com and read into it.
How do I know all this? I owned a retail wireless shop (that is still in business with my family operating it) in Rhode Island and let's just say I know my ##### -
Sprint, Boost, T-Mobile, Simple Mobile may work for most people that do not travel too often and live in the city area. But once you run out into the boonies, you better have brought some matches and a big blanket in case you need to do some smoke signals...

I was looking for a thread like this before I was considering on making it thanks to all inputs I have to drop Sprint & deciding which one would be best vw or at&t.

I spoke with a friend of mine about this a couple of days ago. He bought a smartphone from Walmart and has excellent service. I think he pays $45/month for unlimited everything. He said they use Sprint, Verizon, T-Mobile and AT & T towers. It depends on which phone you purchase as to who's towers are used. He said that he has not had a problem anywhere in the country. He runs 48 states and Canada. I am using Verizon prepaid and spend $60/month for a smartphone. I paid less than $100 for the phone. My friend said if you go with the Walmart Smartphone to make sure to get a very good phone with lots of memory. I just fired Sprint for my air card and went with T-Mobile. I bought a router for $79 with 5 GB included. I can have unlimited data for $30/month once this runs out. I am at home and the signal is very good. I will see how well it does on the road. I have paid $60/month for years. I have been having problems with my Sprint card for some time. They wanted me to sign a new contract for 2 years and pay $70 for a new card or pay $250 for a card without the contract. Going with T-Mobile will save me over $30/month, providing I have good coverage. I spoke with a former truck driver who told me he has used T-Mobile for years and had good service other than when he has been in the boonies. According to him, data coverage is better than their phone coverage.

gman its hard to seriously believe a phone that can acquire signal strength from all 4 major carriers I don't believe its possible not wven 1%. Verizon & Sprint use CDMA & T-Mobile & At&t uses GSM. theres no way at all that any phone can hold both CDMA & GSM without no conflicts. somebody was saying on a different thread prepaids is definitely not the same as the regular contract because they don't give 100% as the same true valuable connection as the contract one. it makes since to me because your paying less
