I was told 1.40 average with the shuttle fleet but then I hear miles are low and the trailers aren't in the best of shape. Seems no matter what is promised by the company, when you check with drivers on the forums it's never even close to reality. Guess I shouldn't be surprised.

Movers use zip code based miles, but they claim all miles are paid the same.

In 2013 I started with them and lasted exactly 3 whole weeks. The reason was that they advertised the shuttle fleet to be like power only. They said in their adds "drop and hook" only. During those three weeks I had only one load that was power only. The rest of the loads were trade shows and regular freight. I did not load or unload freight, but had to take out all the equipment that was assigned to the trailer every time. They did pay me for it however, $60.00 each time, and they kept me moving. I do not complain about their pay, I grossed $12000 to the truck in a little more than two weeks since their orientation was almost a whole week. I left because that was not what I signed up for. I wanted to do power only, not moving regular freight. I do not know if they are the same, but I am sure they use the same tactics to attract drivers. Hope this helps....
bigred81, Lug-Nut and Shawn benton Thank this. -
Thanks for the info nel4you. Did you find a power only company to work for & are you working for a power only company now ? If so, who are they and how is it working out ?
-
Yes. that is what I wanted, and that is what I have been doing since. I work for a power only company called Prime Transport from Indiana. I am at home and doing a seasonal job for the post office, not with my truck though. Maybe will go back there in March, not sure yet since this year after September the rates got so low that I decided to come home early and not drive for now. If rates do not pick up next year, I may move on to some other company.
-
So Prime is not really a good power only company either ?
-
The company is ok, but you are always at the mercy of dispatchers even when is non force dispatch. The economy right now is not on our side when it comes to moving freight rates. I don't go out there because I like the company, I come out there to make money, and if I am not making the amount that I need, then I am going with whomever allows me to do that, preferably one without dispatch; or should I say self-dispatch.

Well, if you run across any place that runs power only and measures up, please check back in and let me know. Thanks again for the info.
nel4you Thanks this.
