Guy just get in anywhere do six months get out learn learn learn stay a year even better as long as your behind the wheel getting XP its good non matter how much you get paid. Truck is 2hundred K load is 1 to 3 hundred K even more so dont get too hung up on pay ok? Just learn learn learn thats what your first yr is about. Dont lease. Not yet. Learn as much as you can.
I blurted out those prices so u can see how much money a company is willing to trust u with u someone who doesnt know how to drive yet. People complain all the time about pay but they never stop to switch sides what if that was your equipment and load? And you put someone like you on it? Just be calm and collected and move forward.
From my research the only drawback with Schneider are the ambient sensors they are putting in their trucks, you will read a lot about those in the "Schneider" forum. Other than that they seem like a decent starter company. TransAm has an all automatic fleet (from what i understand) which would not be very beneficial to a new driver according to many of the vets here. Other than that I don't see too many bad things about the company. After you spend a week or so here you will be able to see which companies you might want to stay away from, it sorta becomes the lesser of two... or in this case fifteen evils, which one better suits you. Like RAGE mentioned, do your 6-12 months and move on to a better company. Good luck driver!
Thanks Rage and Barchetta. This sounds like good advice for a newbie (as we call them/us in the USMC) like myself. All I've been told by everyone who knows anything about trucking is to NOT lease right away. I have a lot of respect for anyone who has paved the way for people like me and are willing to give an honest account of their experiences good and bad. Thanks again and BE SAFE.
Usually the topic of the thread is posted in the subject line. Not your screen name. ATM is also a slang term for a sex act(s). Just fyi. Don't look it up. Mikeeee
