    Aluminum dust is explosive, it is an ingredient in rocket fuel, it is also the reason that the Hindenberg burned up and crashed, they are most likely using the nitrogen blanket as a shielding gas, if there is no air available for combustion, then that is one less worry.

    Agreed, Aluminum dust could ignite when mixed with air.
