I will be finishing my 1 year lease at end of March. TAP program is next. If I couldn't make money I wouldn't be buying a brand new truck.

Does ATS have an age restriction on trucks?

Yes, but I don't remember it. Feel free to reach out to their recruiters and ask though.

Thanks. I've got an '02 leased to Malone. Most smaller companies seem to be at 10 years or newer due to their insurance carriers I think.

i was company fb with ats, i'd say its 60 40 depending on their load for the day that would tell me i'm an idiot for being company or that i probably make more than them. i think it comes down to if you pick the right truck that's not gonna give you buku problems and comprehend that you are only renting the truck not an LP(first year at least) but you still have o\o problems but not o\o freedom

If you have no prior fb experience, I assume they likely wouldn’t show you the ropes so to speak would they? I’d love to get into specialized.

I think they give some training to drivers. They require some OTR experiences of course. I’m getting ready to go there, but I have 8 years flatbed only experience.

My research shows people have done it with no flatbed experience. Me personally I wouldn’t do it. Some of their loads are different than standard easy loads like lumber, shingles, etc.

Many people come over with no flatbed experience. I did. It's only about a day and a half training and you learn the basics. If you have trouble on the road with securement there are people to call.

Very few of our loads are the conventional sticks and bricks. Lots of equipment, castings, crane moves and OD.

Start at class 4 and work your way up. It's not a bad system.

    RERM and Lightfoot71 Thank this.
