Depending on who the swamper is
He stated he was wanting to speed up tie down, never stated he was on a budget. Lol
By the way my swamper wants to take the morning off tomorrow. Was told only 6 chains and binders. Crane unld. You can do it yourself. Guess I will give her the morning off. Made her work on her birthday Wensday lol

What's that, about half your age? Lmao. Happy birthday to the swamper.

Op is pulling a conastoga right? Just close the curtains. Easy peasy.

I'm pulling a conestoga, with gaskets under the pockets and spools. I'm just asking if anyone has attached short chains to the spools permanently to speed up chaining. The j hooks on this particular trailer aren't reversible, so it's a pita to use them with a 90 inch wide rack, which is common where I work.

Ya I was just joking. I pull a conastoga too. I've found sometimes it's easier to lay the chain in place and then jump down and mess with the gasket from the ground.

The short chain with hooks wired together will work. Might have a problem with them getting in the way of the tarp system when you're empty.

Another thing that speeds things up is to hook your chains at least on one side before you even get on the trailer.
