I remember running across Ohio with about 8 or so other trucks running nose to tail at 58 mph on the turnpike and having a good time on the cb. That was fun.

It could be like that again. Lots of sitting time with so many newbies flooding the industry. But now you have to be careful for crazy ax murderers out there. So sad!

58??? whoa...real outlaw...LOL sorry couldnt help it.... -
LOL. I swear back when it was 55 for trucks there wasn't a time I would cross Ohio on the turnpike when there wasn't an OHP cruiser every 5-10 miles. IMO Ohio used to be much worse than California ever was.Giggles the Original Thanks this.

i agree with ya...

It could be that way again but I doubt it ever will. Times have changed as they will in the future, for better or worse. It's not all bad but trucking will never be the same as it once was, no matter how hard anyone tries
-
And then there was the crazy stuff we did...
WV to IN on I-70 in a tick over 3 hours, or Gary to Davenport in just over 2. Both back when those were 55 states. Always a core of 2 or 3 trucks went the whole way, and the other 6 or 8 would come and go. At times we'd have a half dozen 4 wheelers mixed in...
Still don't know how we didn't go to jail.Last edited: Feb 19, 2012
