Oh its worse than that..trust me. I'm an accident free million mile guy with a clean MVR, who lives in Michigan. I've sent applications to everyone but Santa Claus down south. (KY, TN, NC)..saying on my cover letter that I'll relocate flat out. Just hire me and I'll move to wherever you need me to be.
I'm in the process of losing my house as it is, so I don't care where I go. I just want to provide for my family.
Not one reply so far. It's been 3 weeks of seriously looking, and nothing.
Is my only choice CR England?

The reason why they wont call/hire you is because the address on the application. They see michigan they toss it right to the side. I gaurantee they dont look past the first page of your application. If you got friends or family in another state use their address when filling out apps. Bet you you start getting calls.

Yeah thats what i've heard. Living in a peninsula sucks. When you have to go out of your way to get there, it makes things harder. Living through a drive-through state makes things much easier.

Maybe they were hiring but they were also eliminating jobs . Maybe you should have researched Department Of Labor statistics and read trucking industry reports in business magazines instead of listening to recruiters . There were over 20,000 jobs lost in the trucking industry in January , over 30,000 more jobs lost in February . The reason they keep hiring is because people keep abandoning trucks and quitting .
You did the right thing warning people but the problem isn't just in Michigan . Getting pre-hired or called to orientation is not being hired . Many get put on a bus home from orientation .

As of last week, the NTB website shows no openings for drivers but I'm not sure how up to date that is.

They have a terminal here in Ohio and they haven't been advertising in the paper for several months.
